Well all I can say is YEE-HAW
What a night,it was absolutely fantastic.SP had a blast.
It was kind of funny. When we were getting ready to go,Steve said he wanted to take his own vehicle because he turns into a pumpkin early. After we did the countdown to the New Year,we took a little break. We went back up at 12:30 and I told SP that we will probably do one more set.His reaction was "But it's only 12:30"
He was a trooper and played all night and hung right in until the last song.
I will post some pics in a while.Just thought I would post an update

Fender installed the "Tug Bar" below the G string until the '70's, when it was moved above the E string and renamed the "Thumb Rest". Because this bass was built to be a replica of my original '63 Precision, we used the vintage position. I split my playing time between thumb and finger picking, and use the top edge of the pickup when I'm using my fingers.

Thats a cool Precision Bass gif, Marcia.
And I DID bring fish

This past week is full of memories that will always stay fresh in my mind. Despite the great documentation that Marty put on the web, there's nothing like seeing this axe in person. It is simply beautiful. When I bought my original bass in 1963, I thought it was about the coolest thing I'd ever had in my hands. Now, 45 years later, I have one that looks and plays even better. Having this guitar made for me by such a great craftsman and good friend makes it all the more special.
